We, the elka-Holzwerke GmbH, elka-timbering, are a medium-sized enterprise in Rhineland-Palatinate with about 230 employees and 3 production sites in 54497 Morbach, 55606 Kirn and 55487 Sohren. The administrative centre is located in Morbach.

Our wide production range is separated into two main sections. Timber at the production sites in Morbach and Sohren as well as wood materials at the production sites in Morbach and Kirn.

Production Programme:

By sawn timber standard we understand package-wise produced dimensioned timber in either standard or individually sized dimensions of pinewood. Our sawmill at Morbach is specialized on these products. High productivity combined with a good cutting quality fulfill many customer demands.

Sawn Timber à la carte from our mill at Sohren gives our customers the possibility to order timber by lists (beginning at a lot-size of 1 lot). Not only can we fulfill all customer demands concerning amount and dimensions, but also concerning types of wood (spruce, fir, Douglas fir, larch, oak) and refinement.

For both types of sawn timber the following refinements are possible:

Dip- or boiler pressure impregnation, planing, drying, heat treatment, diagonal dividing cuts and of course pollarding.

Chipboards

We have been producing high-quality chipboards in Morbach for 50 years. 100 % free of scrap wood – that we guarantee. Our wide production range (P1, P2, P3, P4, P6) is particularly interesting for specialized retailers because of the specialization on chipboards with tongue and groove.

Solid Timber Boards

Wood as board-formed material in its most natural shape. Three-layer solid timber boards out of fir or Douglas fir in many thicknesses and qualities. For special applications of course also available with tongue and groove.

Light wooden materials

Being the supplier with the widest product range, also in this sector we are setting standards towards quality. Separated into the sections light chipboards (specific weights of 400 - 500 kg/m³) and honeycomb boards (specific weights from 110 kg/m³) with decks of solid timber, chipboard or MDF. The special highlight here: everything is processable with conventional machinery! Highly durable and technologically convincing; wooden materials with a future.
