Wood in the fourth generation
1880
The company founder Ludwig Kuntz was born in 1880 as the son of the timber merchant Karl Kuntz in Neuhemsbach, Palatinate. He spent his childhood and youth in Homburg, Saarland, as well as his training in woodworking, which he completed in his father's business. In Kirn on the Nahe, the opportunity arose in 1903 to lease a timber business and expand, which was Ludwig's chance to stand on his own two feet - he was 23 years old at the time.
