Wood purchasing

The PEFC™and FSC® certifications confirm that round timber comes from forests managed to the standards of these schemes. elka itself holds chain-of-custody certification under PEFC (certificate DINC-PEFC-COC-000341, DIN CERTCO, valid until 28 February 2029) and additionally under FSC (SCS-COC-003333). Certified wood takes priority in our purchasing. To keep transport distances, effort and costs low, we buy round timber mainly within a radius of approx. 150 km around our plant in Morbach. elka relies on long-term and trusting cooperation with our suppliers and forwarders. This enables us to guarantee a continuous supply to our plant in Morbach.
